Top Guest Joins in Celebrations Young Gymnasts were thrilled to meet an Olympic medallist when he presented their club with an accreditation plaque. Double bronze medallist Max Whitlock presented Haverhill Gymnastics Club with it's GymMark from national organisation British Gymnastics last weekend. The club has spent six months working hard to achieve the accreditation, which was awarded to recognise it's newly implemented management framework. A spokesman for the club said, |
"This is timely exposure for the club who are pushing hard to raise funds for a stand alone facility, desperately required to accommodate a waiting list of approximately 300 children"
More than 200 members currently use the club, which practices at Haverhill Leisure Centre on Mondays and Saturdays, but it desperately wants its own facility to accommodate growing demand.
Haverhill Gymnastics is trying to raise £600,000 for the project and has an application submitted to Sport England's inspired facilities match-funding programme for £150,000.
he club said if it's bid is approved, other funders are lined up to match the grant, which will take it halfway to its target.
